PM: Cambodian Armed Forces Courageously Defending Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity

Phnom Penh, July 24, 2025 — Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has reaffirmed Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests amid ongoing tensions with Thailand.

In an official statement released this morning via his social media platforms, the Prime Minister praised the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces for their active and courageous efforts to defend the nation on both military and diplomatic fronts. "The Royal Government of Cambodia, relevant ministries and institutions, provincial administrations, and especially the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces have been working actively and courageously to safeguard the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and core interests of our nation—both on military and diplomatic fronts—while also assisting citizens affected by the Thai army’s current aggression," he stated.

Samdech Thipadei urged all Cambodian citizens to remain calm and place their trust in the government and armed forces, emphasizing their crucial role in protecting the homeland. "Please stay calm, composed, and continue your daily work as usual," he urged the public.

The Prime Minister also provided an update on recent developments, revealing that on the morning of Thursday, July 24, 2025, the Thai military launched attacks on Cambodian military positions in Prasat Ta Mone Thom and Prasat Ta Krabey in Oddar Meanchey province. He further reported that the offensive later expanded to the Mom Bei area.

"Cambodia has consistently adhered to peaceful means of resolving disputes, but in this instance, we have no choice but to respond with armed force to armed aggression," he emphasized, reaffirming Cambodia’s stance on defending its sovereignty.

The situation remains tense, but the government continues to prioritize the defense of national interests while seeking a peaceful resolution through diplomatic channels. Cambodia's leadership reaffirmed their resolve to protect the country's sovereignty and citizens against any external threats or violations.
